The Rights

There are a lot of things worth fighting for, like dignity, honor, and love. But, in "The Rights in the Streets of Memphis,Richard Wright recalls a turning point in his childhood where he fought for respect, self respect. In this autobiography, Richard Wright explains what is worth fighting for. He earned his respect by fighting for it, so I think that there are things worth fighting for.

Violence is not the conclusion to most problems. In most cases violence makes things worse, not better. I think that violence is never the resolution to any problem. And there are no instances where violence is okay. There is a right way to handle a problem and a wrong way, and violence is the wrong way.

Dr.Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X were the defining features of the Civil Rights Movement. These two towering leaders fought during the civil rights struggle and the black power movements. Malcolm believed that aggression would prove more of a point then being peaceful.

Dr. Martin Luther King used nonviolence to fix problems, he believed that nonviolent protest was the most effective weapon against a raciest and unjust society. Some of his most known protest were The Montgomery Bus Boycott, The Albany Movement, and The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, that is where he delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech to the people of D.C. Despite his attempts for peace, Dr. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968 while standing on a balcony in Memphis Tennessee.
